'Cat Nap' Gocco Print

It's been a while since we've done some gocco printing so we really enjoyed dragging out the press again. Here's the results from our first two open edition prints; 'Cat Nap' in coral, and in turquiose.

Our screen prints are still available to arrive before Christmas if you live in the UK and place your order by 1pm Friday 21st December. All our prints can be ordered over the Christmas period - Screen prints and gocco prints will be sent out on the very next day the Post Office is open. Giclee prints will be sent out from mid January, although we do have one or two of them in stock, so it's always worth emailing us at studio@biroRobot.co.uk to see if it can be sent sooner.

Chelsea Flowers

We had such a great response to our 'Chelsea Flowers' illustration that we've launched it as a giclee print. Thank you all so much for your enthusiasm, especially the lovely Caroline Dall-Whittall. You can purchase one here.

Cabs

It's always lovely to have a mention and we are grateful that our 'Cabs' print has had a few. Most recently it appeared in Lay Baby Lay's 'Little Grease Lightning' style board for Ann Kelle's blog. How nice is that?! Thank you both. We love the yellow and blue combination.

Sleeps till Christmas

Nine sleeps till Christmas ! And, and, and, the last Christmas First Class UK posting date is Tuesday 20th ! Demonstrating the countdown (till the big guy in red, with white fluffy trimmings, appears) is our 'Magic Number' print. The fab white star came from Ragology's stall at a recent Vintage Pixie Fair. More to come on that in another post.

I'll now be going to the Post Office, Forest Gump style. '...........if I was going somewhere, I was running!'

Owl

'Owl' is a new hand pulled, limited edition print that looks set to be popular. He's a brilliantly bright orange, brighter, lighter and sunnier than we could capture here !

Of the small batch we printed of 'Owl' we only have five left in stock. Looks like we'll be printing more in this edition first thing next year. Another one for the 'To Do' list, with a smile !

You can find 'Owl' in our on line shop. - There's one more week for hand pulled print Christmas orders with in the UK.

Battersea

This next print in progress, 'Battersea', is closer to home. We just love, love, love, Battersea Power Station. Oh it's just great, and not just great in a great big up-side-down table way!

Sir Giles Gilbert Scott designed the building's 1930s exterior and then later, Bankside, which is now the Tate Modern art gallery. He also designed the red telephone box - what a cool customer!

Central Park

Here's a new design we've been working on for a Central Park print. We've taken the colours from the park in winter - we just love the way it looks at that time of year! Here's a few close-ups.

A huge thank you to Craig McCann for featuring us on his fantastic Fishink blog this week. More about Fishink to come, but for now we'd like to wish 'Craig and Tone' a very successful Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair ! (Manchester. Friday 21st til - Sunday 23rd October. Tone Von Krogh’s stand)

Buses

Our hand pulled screen print 'Buses' is finally available from our Big Cartel shop. Here it's trimmed down and put it in a wonky old frame. Below is it's actual size.........

Enormous! (Chuckle) I couldn't resist it. It's 50 cm x 35 cm - no crane necessary.

Printed on lovely thick white, 300 gsm Fabriano 5 paper. Signed, numbered and dated, in a limited edition of 85.

Buses, buses - you wait for an age and then they all arrive at once!

Ethel & Maud

'Ethel was a creature 'bout as lovely as can be. Ethel was an island in the sea......' Mr Billy Mowbray, from ManOrMouse?, sings. He was kind enough to let us interpret 'Ethel and Maud' as we liked. Here's how it turned out, with black waves, for the single and print. There are also two smaller variations on grey and white, with blue waves. We hope you like them!

Make sure you stop by at ManOrMouse?'s bandcamp to hear more of 'The Learning Curve' album. You won't regret it! This would make biroRobot's Desert Island Album Discs - no word of a lie!

Click that subtle little black triangle below to listen to 'Ethel and Maud' (First time blogging with a small black triangle - if it works, I'll be jumping up and down. If it doesn't work, I'll be jumping up and down.)

New York Big Apple

Here's our New York Apple giclee print being nicely modeled by a couple of mugs. We've noticed that it is one of the favourites among our first range of prints, thanks to the lovely community that is Etsy.

A big biroRobot thank you to Print & Pattern and Old Try for featuring us - having been open for just two weeks it's a real boost. We feel like a legend in our own lunchtime!
